Tips For Writing Copy

Would a few tips to writing compelling copy be of use to you?

They would...

Then here's what I'll do for you over the coming weeks, a new tip and another way for you to improve the copy you write.

So, let's get straight to it...

TIP No 1.

Write as you speak...

That's right too many people try to make their copy perfect, you're not writing a thesis or sitting your English Language exam again!

The grammar doesn't need to be perfect, in fact it shouldn't be!

Let me ask you this, how often do you compose a sentence perfectly or enunciate every word when you're chatting to your friends?

How strange would they think you were if you started speaking like that on a night out, you'd sound like some kind of English gent from centuries ago...

Not a good look for a pint and a catch up down the pub!

They'd probably walk away from you (funnily enough that's what happens to your reader too)

Your copy should be written in the same manner as a conversation with a best friend, it should read as if you are having a chat with the reader and only the reader...

By that I mean don't write as if you're on stage and speaking to a huge group, it needs to be personal, if you can achieve that and keep it conversational...

You'll be one step closer

To check it sounds right, sounds the way you would speak...

Read it out loud

There's no better way to see how your copy is going to read to the intended audience than to read it out loud to yourself...

Yes, you'll look at little mad, but you'll find out two things:
  1. Does it sound conversational and is it directed to the reader only
  2. Is it interesting (will it hold the readers interest?)
After reading, if you can answer yes to both those questions then you've made a massive improvement in the standard of your copy.

Ok, that's tip 1...

Keep a look out for Tip No 2

And remember if you need sales copy or want to learn more about how to compose a compelling sales letter....

The Unspoken Key To Internet Success

Do you know what the most important factors are in achieving a successful product launch?

You may think you know but there is one factor key to the level of your success that's very rarely spoken about and disclosed by the 'Guru's' even less...

No, it's not Traffic!

All the Guru's tell you about Traffic and the importance of it, some even show you how to get Traffic in a variety of ways paid and free.

But none of them (well maybe a few) will tell you about the importance of having quality sales copy to promote your site once the traffic has been generated, even less will tell you where to get it!

OK, so just what is sales copy and how can it make such a difference?

Sales copy is the written word on your website, the words that describe your product and entice your potential customer to part with their cash... time after time.

Surely words can't make big a difference?

Wrong, very wrong... writing compelling sales copy is an art, the writer needs to understand exactly what it is that will keep a reader's interest, deepen their curiosity and connect with their own rules and values or buying patterns...

Making it impossible for them to find a valid reason not to buy from you!

This is where the skill and art comes in...

Certain words, phrases and methods of punctuation, layout etc all have the ability to take your conversions from mediocre to amazing, this is the knowledge and experience the Guru's use to make them stand-out from the crowd.

This is the knowledge and experience the Guru's pay massive amounts of money for and the same reason they don't advertise the fact that copywriting is so pivotal to their success...

They simply don't want you to be able to compete with them!

A well written piece of copy can and will transform the level of success you can achieve.
